Footage of Turkish MPs getting into a huge brawl in parliament was caught on camera in Ankara on Wednesday, after members of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the opposition exchanged blows reportedly over Republican People’s Party (CHP) Deputy Chair Engin Ozkoc’s speech on Turkey’s military involvement in Syria. The images show numerous members of both sides grabbing and pushing each other, as well as shouting aggressively in each other’s faces. Some politicians can even be seen throwing punches and attacking each other while others attempt to stop the fight. Ozkoc had reportedly early accused President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of disrespecting the Turkish soldiers killed in the Idlib region of Syria last week. The Turkish president himself had earlier described the opposition as “dishonourable, ignoble, low and treacherous” for allegedly calling into question Turkish military operations in Syria.
