The Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812, became widely known, used by the military in the early 1900’s and in 1931 it officially became our national anthem. It’s cool to hear how it used to sound back in the day, it hasn’t been in it’s current form until probably the late 1950’s. It’s been changed a lot since it became the national anthem, and mostly for the better.
