In Hong Kong, clashes between pro-democracy demonstrators and police continued. The protesters barricaded Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University (PolyU) as part of a week-long campaign aimed at disrupting traffic and hitting the local economy. Riot police fired tear gas in a bid to clear the demonstrators, who threw petrol bombs and started fires on the street.
