Russia holds postponed military parade celebrating the victory over Nazi Germany

Russian President Vladimir Putin says the world owes the former Soviet Union a debt of gratitude for its contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. He was speaking at a major military parade in Moscow marking 75-years since the end of the war. The parade was originally scheduled for May 9th – but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Kremlin dismssed criticism that it is irresponsible to go ahead with it now, saying infections in Moscow are declining.
