Trump Declares WAR On Democratic Debates With Counter Rally, May REFUSE To Debate Democrat Nominee. Trump announced he will hold a rally at the same time as the next Democratic presidential debates. Assuming his rally is covered by Fox news or other media outlets this will put him in head to head competition with the Democrats. As the ratings for the past democratic debates have crashed this may cause a further decline as viewers choose to tune into his rally instead. But Trump is also considering not even debating the Democratic nominee in 2020 and for good reason. First there is the strategic play of letting the Democrats dig their own graves with gaffe after gaffe. Why would Trump allow them a platform to correct their mistakes. But more importantly is that we’ve already seen bias from the mainstream media. In one debate Anderson Cooper covered for Joe Biden by claiming concerns about his son hunter Biden were debunked. It is not the role of a debate moderate to defend a candidate. Imagine if trump was on stage at the time, the moderates would accuse him of lying and defend the other candidate. it makes no sense then for Trump to participate. Especially now with impeachment looming trump has all the reason to avoid press events that will allow Democrats to make accusations and shift the focus off the booming economy and onto Trump scandals.
