60 years ago, on November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 181, approving the plan to terminate British mandatory rule over Palestine and to partition the territory into a Jewish State and an Arab State. To commemorate the event the Jewish Community Relations Council hosted a luncheon for the local diplomatic corps who viewed a documentary on the historic vote.
